Lately, our days are ruled by time.
Oh hell, who am I kidding. My days have always been ruled by time. But lately everything's about the clock. And our incessant hoop spinning to get the kids dressed or undressed, fed, out the door, in the door, in the car seat, out of the car seat, in the daycare or preschool, from the daycare or preschool on time. In time. For time.
Which means that we are no more or less normal than any other household out there.
Well, at least when it comes to lives ruled by the clock.
All of this got me to remembering ridiculous "times" in my life:
12:00pm -- The time the Flintstones came on every day when I was in kindergarten.
3:14pm -- The time my high school let out for the day.
2:22pm -- The end of one of the class periods in aforesaid high school day.
7:20am -- The time by which I had to be on the road to get to my teaching job on time.
17:00 -- The time on the 24 hour clock that made me miss my bus home from Oaxaca to Monterrey when I was living in Mexico. (I always think it is 7:00pm instead of 5:00pm.)
8:36am -- The time the Bill Good Show starts on CKNW.
What crazy times are in your life?

6 Heard through the grapevine:
8:08 p.m., the bedtime of that wackadoodle Sportacus on the show Lazytown. Even though my kids have not watched that show in about three years.
All the times in my head now seem to rotate around my kids -
7:30 a.m. - the time I can expect the phone to ring each weekday, the girl my son walks to school with.
3:30 to 4 p.m. - when the boys arrive home
4:30 on - what to cook
etc., etc.
I'm trying to figure out these days if it's good or bad that little to no blocks of time really revolve around just me, if that makes sense.
MM -- I have not had the blessing (or is it curse?) to watch that show. That being said, I should have added 7:30am, the time Dora (DORA! DORA! AND HER SCREAMING COHORTS. WHY DOES EVERYONE ON THAT SHOW SCREAM) comes on in the morning.
FADKOG -- Me time? Is there such a thing for a wife/mother? Kindly introduce the concept to us. :)
4-8pm is the WORST time in our house. The kids are home, dinner's trying to get cooked, husband comes waltzing through the door and then...bedtime. It's just insanity.
GAH.
now!! in-laws come tomorrow, need to make a cake for Saturday - a skatepark of course! AND I have a midterm exam next Tuesday!
6:42 the time I absolutely have to get out of bed in order to take a shower and get ready for work before waking up the kids!
